I'm the new Freshman.

Okay soo I’ll be 14 by the time school starts. I’m a Girl, and I moved from a total country town with ranches and horses(I live in Texas) to a city that has 10 times the population as my country town. (NOT JOKING) I’m really nervous about everything because I’m always shy around new people and I’m having a hard time getting used to the life of not having to drive atleast 25 miles just to go to Walmart. I need some advice about what to expect and how to give myself some confidence to get ready to go to the new school thats 5 times bigger than my country town’s High school.
&& Maybe some advice on trying not to be shy and quiet around new people…

Thank You!

Haha thats not tooo bad! For my freshman year I moved to a country where I could barely speak the language! =P

Well hun thats just your personality… some people are just introverted, you can’t really do much to change that…

Uhmmm what to expect from city high school… Lots of running around and VERY crowded hallways haha… Your gonna have to learn to push through the crowd just to get to your next class on time =P lol

&& for the confidence part, just be yourself, and act natural… Just walk in there ready to face your day… [[We always make things out to be worse or more scary then they actually are.]] Just walk up to people say hi introduce your self explain your situation make small talk, don’t take anything too seriously. Believe in yourself, say a little mantra in your head about how you can do it, as cheesy as that may sound. =]

Good Luck =]

FunMail me if you wanna know anything else =]

P.s. I’m Done diddly high school and am going back for a 5th year =D haha

Alright. So I moved to Seattle from a little town in Montana in the middle of high school. I definitely know your pain. My advice would be to just be yourself, but there’s a little more. The old adage that first impressions mean everything is true. Make an effort to look nice on your first day. I’ve been here for a year and I’m still not used to it - if you want to talk, PLEASE funmail me and I can help you out a little more!!! Good luck!

P.S. You’re lucky that you’re moving right at your freshman year. A lot of big cities have lots of people from different middle schools - a lot of attention won’t be drawn to the face that you’re new!
