I'm glad to see energy being discussed wrt national security...

…but do they really mean it, or with the price of oil in free fall along with other markets, will they foget about it?

I get the sense that McCain is saying that just because big oil supports the Republicans and wants to drill, and that Obama is saying it just to appease the green wing.

toadaly, I see nothing insincere in what Obama’s says. Maybe Obama and the “green wing” are right that it is in our national security interests to reduce our oil consumption. Ecologically, economically, militarily, and diplomaticly.
