I have trouble getting to sleep

I used to have this problem, I find that I can sleep much easier now.

A lot of times, a person can’t fall asleep because their mind is wandering in too many directions. Sounds odd, but try meditation, there are many sites on the internet that can teach you simple breathing techniques that will calm your mind and clear your thoughts enough that you can sleep easily.

Also, I don’t know how active you are, but if you exercise daily, it can also help you to sleep better at night. Cut down on your caffeine consumption as well.

I recommend, that you do -NOT- read a book, or watch tv, while going to sleep. There are actually long-term effects for this. Such as, imagine a day when you just want to sit and read a book for a while. If you’ve become accustomed to only reading before you go to bed, you won’t be able to enjoy the book, because your mind is telling you it’s time to sleep.. TV can do the same. Not to mention, if you’re like me, if the TV is on I tend to have dreams about whatever the TV is playing. For instance: I fell asleep while my girlfriend was watching a show involving spiders, thus, having nightmares about spiders all night… worse night’s sleep in a long time.

Instead of using sleep aids, try getting a bottle of the St. John’s Wort vitamins. They can help you as well.

Good luck, Insomnia affects many people, you just have to find something that works for you.

Fortunately, I have a handicap. I’ve worn corrective lenses for so long, that when I take my contacts out, my blurred vision is my mind’s way of saying it’s bedtime. So when I can’t see, time for bed :)

Try MidNite. It is a non-habit forming sleep aid. And it is all natural. I have had problems sleeping and I use that and it works great.

I so know what you mean… I can be up for days. All I can say is try not to drink too much caffenine during the day. Yesterday I tried Tylenol PM and it helped.

My boyfriend had this problem and still does now but try having a warm bath, have a hot drink, not caffiene, dim your lighting to relax your mind, avoid tv, use lavender spray on your bed quilts, dont have a hot room, make sure you are in a comfortable clean environment, and I suggest have at least half an hour relaxing in your room with no tv and no bright light before you settle down to sleep =) might help but if not im sorry x
