I have 2 schnauzers (male and female) boy within minutes locked up

I need some guidance, I am going to take my female puppy to the vet. She is 9-10 months old. If she is pregnant what should I do?I dont want her to have an abortion and I dont want the labor to kill my dog either. I wanted to breed them later when I learned more about the breeding process. I know you are suppose to wait until they go into heat the 3rd time around and never the 1st, because it most likely will lead to still born pups and my dog might be in trouble also. please help if you have more knowledge in this area?

Answer #1

I say get her spayed now, and dont’ breed them, this takes a lot of time, care and money. also so many dogs die at the pounds everyday. Please think about this, For more advice have a good conversation with your vet.

Answer #2

You can do the puppy abortion and save puppies for a later time. (Though you said you don’t want to.) Technically there are so many puppies out there that need homes that it’s a bit unfair to bring more into this world. You can also have the litter size reduced so that she only has a couple (or one) puppy which gives them a better chance of being healthy. If you’re uncomfortable with it let nature take its course and keep her as healthy as you can while the puppies are growing - she’s not at an ideal age but she’s old enough. At least she’s not only 5-6 months.

Answer #3

Your dog is quite young to have puppies I would have her checked out, still born pups that never came out can kill her
