How to tell a retriver pup

About a month ago I brought a puppy of a lady who could not keep him, she got him of a breeder in wales, he came with a piece of paper that had his parents and grandparents names on it also said he was a black labreadore, but taking him to the vet for a check up I was told he is not a pure bred labradore and he is more likly a collie cross, are his papers wrong and how can I tell his breed as he looks like a retriver to me. Help

Well… you can’t be sure really, usually the breeder is able to tell you, she is probably a collie crossed with a labrador retriever, it doesn’t matter much anyway =] Unless you were planning of getting the dog showed… =]

this is a classic case of papers mean nothing, there are bad breeders out there that can register a mixed litter on other dogs they own, NO one comes out to the house to check to see who the real parents are, At work today a client came in with a new puppy, it was a shituz poodle mix, IT ACTUALLY HAD PAPERS AND CALLED A DESIGNER BREED. Just makes me sick that people are paying top dollar for these dogs, I don’t get it. If you really want to know you can have a blood test done, talk to your vet about it, it is pricey.

u need 2 take your puppy to the best vet office/clinic in town and go by what they say cause the lady that bread the dog could of found the parents in the wild so you should go by the best vets answer
