how to stop a child from having smelly arm pits

I was wondering if I can use dove deodorant on my 4 year old

Answer #1

If you have a very active child, or a very obese child, sweating could lead to early age smelly armpits. Normally, armpit odor starts during puberty. Just make sure your child bathes daily and use good soap (you can ask a pharmacist for a more effective brand yet one that is mild enough for a child). Scrub under the armpits well and make sure the area is fully dry before putting any clothes on. I don’t think adult deodorant is suitable for children. Again, you can ask your local pharmacist for a recommendation for any mild deodorants, if needed.

Also, if you think that the odor smells a lot like rotting fish, it might be fish-odour syndrome. The good news is that it is treatable. See a doctor about it. Here’s the link to read more about it: http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/ate/childrenshealth/200572.html

Answer #3

I’d suggest seeing your doctor for this. I wouldn’t recomend adult deodorant. Make sure under the arms are scrubbed good and buy some kind of soap that’ll help. Ask your doctor if deodorant would even work on your child. Good luck.
