how to start up an ipod shuffle

how can I start my friends ipod shuffle?

I have the ipod nano but I dont want (as for she wouldnt either) for my songs or her songs to come up into each others library. so how do we fix that?

and I put the songs she wanted on her ipod thing (which I had to open another playlist) but whenever I disconect it to listen to it and see if it worked the little light on the bottom blinks orange and green like 3 times.

and yes I pressed sync.

please help shes comin to pick it up in 2 hrs.

Hi,

To start using iPod shuffle, move the switch on the back to either the play in order or the shuffle position. The green stripe will be visible in either position.
