How to prime interior walls before painting?

Step 1: Turn off power to room (through breaker box) Step 2: Remove all electrical covers and cover light fixtures with plastic Step 3: Put masking tape on the ceiling, baseboard, other walls, molding, etc, to protect it from the primer Step 4: Cover floor with a drop cloth (use masking tape to hold it in place) Step 5: Wipe walls with a damp cloth Step 6: Use brush to paint the corners and borders with the primer and then use roller to cover up the rest of the wall Step 7: Wait for primer to dry completely Step 8: For a second coat repeat steps 6 and 7
