How to help back pain and pneumonia?

My dad has pneumonia right now. It’s even worse because he has chronic back pain and the two put together make him almost suffocate. He has a prescription medication, but hasn’t been admitted to the hospital. What are some ways I could help to distract him or help the pain? Any good foods? Organic fruit?

pneumonia is a bacterial infection in the lungs and whatever chronic back pain he has is just a hindrance on his life right now. Just a pain killer is the only thing I would recommend because of the antibiotics he has will take care of the pneumonia. Besides standing will put pressure on his lungs. Have him lay on his side and not his back. It will help with breathing.

I couldn’t really say food would do any different for his pain. Just be there when he needs help cause that pneumonia really sucks!
