How to have wifi on a laptop?

My brother has a computer that we can get wireless connection from using my laptop but then no one knows the code for it so I can never use wifi on my phone or my laptop.

I just got a new computer. Is there anyway I can make it so that there can signal from this computer so my laptop can work?

on your router there should be a hole just big enough to fit in a paperclip, usually has reset written close by. but before you do realize that if you dont fix it afterwards your brother might not have connection either ;)

try uninstalling and reinstalling router.

If you have Vista, Go to Start menu, and RIGHT click Computer, click Manage, then in the window that somes up, on the left hand side click Devices. Then click Network adapters and your router should be listed there. Right click it and press uninstall.

Then you reinstall it and make sure you get the code this time.

If no one remembers the passphrase you can use a paperclip to reset the router to its factory defaults.
