How to get back to "Guys" poker night?

My husband hosts a monthly “guys” poker night. He has been doing this for several years now. I know he enjoys it and I don’t mind at all. I always make him snacks for him and the guys and when the time comes for poker I leave and go out with girlfriends. I respect him enough to let him have his guy time. We moved about 4 years ago and met some new people and his poker group expanded. Since we moved there are one or two guys that cannot seem to show up with out their wife/girlfriend. I am annoyed by this. As I said, I respect him enought to let him have his guys night. He doesn’t know how to go about putting a stop to the women tagging along. I for one, can’t understand why, if you know it is a guys night would you want to tag along. Please if you have any suggestions as to how we can get this back to a “guys” poker night let me know.

hmm I wonder though why they want to stay there if they’re gonna hate it anyway :S I bet their husbands dont attend their girls’ night out anyway…

couldn’t their husbands persuade them not to go? LOL

Answer #2

That’s what I think. I would never follow my husband on his night out. I just don’t quite get it. I think the guys need to “man up” lol

maybe you can have like a girls’ night too somewhere.. like the wives of your hubbies’ friends??

or like, when they come over, invite those girls for party or something..

That is a great idea, problem is, they would rather be where the guys are. I did actually invite one of them to go out with my group the last time, but she stayed behind. She even commented that this was guys night and they would probably hate it, and stayed anyway. They are quite honestly not the kind of girls I would hang out with either. Some of the guys from poker get annoyed by this also, as they come to have a “guys” night.
