How to get a lot of publicity for a new band?

I want to know how to get more publicity to eventually becoming a well-known band around the world but I first need to know how to start

play at your local coffee shop or wherever you get a chance…if your any good people will be interested and spread the word. you can also set up an account on a social site specifically for your band. put your music on there and ask a lot of people to be your friend…again if your any good people will become fans:) good luck

Go to a club around you that plays bands and talk to them.. Out here a popular band (Drop Dead Gorgeous, Brokencyde, Eyes Set To Kill, etc) will play followed by garage like bands… The popular band will bring in the crowd for you guys. :)
