How to convert my video into another format?

ok I have this really funny video on my computer and I wanted to share it with my friend so I uploaded it to our youtube account but after it uploaded it usually says, successful, processing. or whatever, but this time it said, failed, invalid file format. and I couldnt send the video to her because it was one that I edited because I made it go in reverse and she doesnt have the program I used. I need the file to be a movie file or a video clip. thank you!! (and it would be a lot easier if I could just reverse the videos in windows movie maker because then I wouldnt need to convert anything, does anyone know if thats possible??)

Hey hey skits, don’t be so harsh and condemn.. we all learnt to use programs somehow, usually by trial and error… this is no different.

Do you still have the ‘project’ file, as well as the final video? if so, just open up the project file and re-export it as something else (it should let you). Otherwise, there are programs out there that will let you import a video file and re-export it as something else - you might be able to create a new Windows Movie Maker movie, import the original exported video, and try and re-export it as something else.

Well first of all its called giving specific information like what format its pumping out and exact error messages, second most movie making tools (I’m assuming thats what your using because you weren’t specific) have the option to save it in a specific file format. Jesus, some people are so technologically ignorant. Don’t use a program until you know how.
