Answer #5

Nope- you’re an atheist who was once a Catholic.

Answer #6

Type “Dara O’Briain Catholicism” into YouTube :)

Answer #7

well no. it depends on what you believe. if you believe in the teachings of atheist then yes you are an athiest no matter family you are frm

Answer #8

Actually, being an athiest means that you have no religion, because in order to be in a religion you have to believe in the God that that religion worships. Athiests don’t become athiests because they want to, but because they stop believing. Hang in there! Don’t stop believing!

Answer #9

sigh

Atheism is NOT a religion. There’s no rituals or indoctrination. It JUST means that you don’t believe in the existence of deities. So its pretty simple. Do you believe in God? No? PRESTO! YOU’RE ATHEIST!

Answer #10

“DOn’t believe in God religion “lol…I never heard it put that way bahaha…im so gonna prank my friends with that trick question…

“Which religion doesn’t believe in God?”

Answer #11

no if your an atheist then you dont belive in god therefor it dosent matter if you were confermed because there would be no god

Answer #12

Athiests don’t become athiests because they want to, but because they stop believing.

Wrong, most of them don’t want to believe anymore, because believing (most of the time) is quite dodgy. Oh and I have friends who were raised as atheists, they never started off with religion, in order words they didn’t become atheists because the stopped believing.

Answer #13

I want to be atheist (don’t believe in god religion) but I’m catholic.

my only question is:

How can you be a Follower of Christ (which is the definition of a Christian), if you want to be an atheist???

and yes..apparently Catholics are a denomination of Christianity.

Answer #14

‘Catholic’ is a religious affiliation, not a belief. ‘Atheism’ is a belief, not a religious affiliation. You can be atheist and also a practicing Catholic. Although I personally find this strange, lots of atheists find comfort in religious practice.

Answer #15

My ex had an interesting take on this. She still considers herself Catholic even though she disagrees with a lot of church doctrine. She still considers me Presbyterian even though I don’t believe in God.

As she sees it Catholics have shared experiences like Catholic school, mass, confession, communion, etc so Catholicism is a cultural association as well as a religious one. She also believes that I retain the Protestant work ethic and stoicism from my religious background.
