How to be confident when speaking english?

I’m trying to improve my english speaking but I’m not confident !

Answer #1

just keep practicing you’ll get it soon

Answer #2

The best thing to do when learning any language is definitely to practice. Also, try to listen to music in English, and watch shows in English. Anything you can do to be around the language will help.

If you have friends or can make friends who speak it fluently (even if it’s online), it will help.

Answer #3

you have to practice. You don’t need to be afraid. You can’t improve if you don’t speak. Read English books. Speak with your friends.

Answer #4

But be opened to those who do speak english well, because more than likely they will correct you if your not sure…

Oh yeah dont be afraid to ask for help!

Answer #5

Answer #6

Answer #7

Answer #8

I agree with what everyone above said, especially TV! That’s how I learned when I first immigrated, I was about 5 but cartoons helped a lot. I only had to learn Enlgish in school for 1 year before they put me in normal classes.

But also, don’t be afraid of making mistakes, or ashamed of your own language.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, a common mistake people make is getting shy and closing up– thus never practising. I have friends who speak Spanish and try to learn English, and they get embarassed when they make mistakes. It’s a normal thing.

Also a lot of times people can become somewhat self-concious about their own language because they’re afraid others will judge them.– Don’t. It’s fine, and most people like foreign languages anyway.
