Okay , the only person I have ever babysat is my brother and hes only 3 years younger than me , so honestly I have no idea what I'm doing. I've taken a babysitting course 3 years ago but I need help knowing how to entertain a 6 year old girl?, what to do if she starts crying?, how do I get her to go to bed?, will be be awkward between me and the girl if this is my first time meeting her? oh and if it helps I`m a really nice person who usually gets along great with kids.
well usually 6 yr old girls love to play barbies or some sort of doll so ask her if she wants to play those or ask her whats her fav game to play and play it with her. Or ask if she wants so watch a movie, or color/draw, or you can play hide and seek, or if your allowed take her to a friends or go to the park, or go sledding/build a snowman, most young kids are very hyper and will like to do one of those things, mainly just ask her what shed like to do. If she starts crying, ask her whats wrong and try to fix the problem, and play a game with her to get her to go to bed first I usually ask the kids what pj's she or he would like to wear then I make a game up like, who can fall asleep the fastest, (it usually also helps if you get her to waste all her energy before bed), you could read her a book before bed or even bribe her by saying if you fall asleep and I dont hear you get up ill get you a special treat the next time I come to babysit. it shouldnt be to awkward if you act like shes your sister, that would relle help. you should be fine if you do things like these.

I have a 8 year old stepsister but she was five when I met her she was really shy at first but now were so close.
I used to let her dress me up and I'd give her make overs and stuff, little girls love playing dress up, if she starts crying even though I don't think she will just comfort her and try to make her laugh that's what I always do to my sis, and bedtime tell her its time to go to bed and you'll read her a story and read to her till she falls asleep, I always do this with my sister and we both usually fall asleep though, if you get along with kids I'm sure you won't have any problems, good luck :) and hope I said something helpful
one thing that ALWAYS works for me to get kids to sleep...it usually works wit 2-8 yr olds...pop in a movie...and have them lay down...then say they dont have to go to sleep they just have to lay stil watch the movie and close their eyes...it puts em to sleep almost right away...n then if htey aren't to heavy just carry them to their bed or sumtin like that...or if the kid is bein rowdy and annoyin...I just send them to their room keep teh door open and say I dont want to hear a single word out of this room lay there and dont talk...they get bored and fall asleep...hope I helped!
if it's the first time meeting her, be super nice mayeb bring some candy to offer her, not much lol, if you can, maybe bring a couple of little games you two can play together, maybe you and her can watch tv, and ask her if she's hungry every now and then, or if she wants a little snack, then tell her when she's supposed to go to bed maybe you could read to her or something?
