how to ask a guy to prom (just friends)?

So I want to bring my best friend to prom. there is no history between us, just good friends. I don’t know if it will be awkward to ask him to prom since we are simply best friends but how should I ask him? I don’t want it to be over-the-top but idkkk ideas?

just be like, hey you got a date? no. ok why dont we just as friends. BOBS your UNCLE your going with him.

well he’s in college so he’d have to come back to his old high school…and he said it’s too expensive to go just for fun…maybe he didnt think I was serious? oh well.

My gosh you kids sure over complicate things, you are already friends that is a good start right there, I assume neither of you has a boyfriend or girlfriend, so just say something like, “You and I are really good friends and we are comfortable with each other, I was wondering if you would do me a favor and take me to the prom, I think it would be a lot of fun for both of us and we can avoid all the pressure that goes with it” All you are really doing is asking him to hang out, like you would if you asked him to go see a movie or concert with you.

Relax have fun and help him pick out his tux.
