hi there. English is also my second language. :-) but I actually prefer reading and writing in English (speaking is a different matter though :p).

Are you referring to studying in english or just studying in general? If what you’d like seek help in is studying in english, I suggest you read a lot (magazines or teen fiction first so you’ll get familiar and comfortable with the language without those scary words) and watch tv series marathons (so you’d be more familiar with pronunciation, slang, etc). Once you are familiar with the language, you may eventually start with other books such as the thesaurus, academic books, etc. so you’d widen your vocab.

if you’re seeking help about studying in general, it really depends on what subject it is (at least for me). Practice a lot for math problems, read and re-read multiple times for philosophy, and associate with ordinary situations for practical stuff. I guess I digest more of what I read when I apply it to practical stuff. Try to read more slowly and understand what each sentence conveys. Its okay if you dont understand it the first try, Write shorthand notes of what you do understand and what you dont. If you’ve already listed these, re-read whatever it is you’re studying and try to digest what you dont understand. There’s plenty of internet resources which will help you understand some things in simpler terms. You might want to check them out as well.

Best of luck. Hope I helped.

Well actually I like the studying your doing, see with studying a page four times you’ll be able to properly evaluate any sort of information your getting from it and gather knowledge based on the reading more adequately than someone else just reading the page once.

Since its for English, mantain focus on the words that are tricky to pronounce or words that you don’t know the definition too. Then you can make flash cards and test yourself to see if you know the meaning off the word.

Try different types of revising… Everyone has their own way of learning and remembering.

Some people can take it straight out of the text books. Other’s prefer to listen and learn, Some prefer practical, hands-on approaches, such as questions and stuff.

Try different ways, and see which is best for you.
