I started my 4 month old on pablum (rice cereal) when just breastmilk didn't seem to be satisfing her, but it says on the box to just start out with one table spoon a day. but after every feeding she still seems hungry and wont take anymore breakmilk (feeding by breast not bottle) . Is it ok to give her a tablespoon after every feeding??
I've raised three children of my own, my 23yr old niece, and now I'm helping with a 4yr old great nephew and a 1yr old granson. So my advice to you...let the baby lead you! She knows when she's hungry. Some babies are full after eatting 1 tablespoon and some may need two or three. How long has she been on cereal? Because the amount that she needs will increase rapidly! If the tablespoon isn't satisfying her then give her a little more. One great thing.. if you give her too much she'll let you know. And do what cotonntop suggested, mix breast milk with the cereal. I know when my children were little they sold nipples and bottles just for cereal feedings. I don't know if they still sell them or even if they still make them, but they worked great!! Remember let her lead you.. each cry means something!!

the pack is usally only a guide line so go with what feels right or what shes telling you if shes still hungary then give her abit more play by ear thats what I did with mine. my oldest was 9lb 1oz when born and he was a very hungary baby the only way to settle him was giving him solids toast etc kept him busy and self feeding he loved it although the mess wasnt nice for me! hope this has managed to help you abit
try mixing breastmilk with the rice in a bowl not to thick it the baby will choke, kinda the consistancy of apple sauce. I have three kids so I'm not just making things up.each child is different. I usually gave mine approximately 3 ounces of mixed rice per day for the first while then began using it twice a day, until they began table foods some babies need more. others need less. depends on various things
