How much does a rook piercing hurt?

Next week I’m going in to get my rook pierced and I want to know what to expect. I have an industrial and I didn’t think that it was too terribly bad. I mean yeah it hurt but it wasn’t even close to how bad some of my tattoos hurt. I would consider myself having a high pain tolerance, but I don’t know. So, in your opinion how bad did it hurt? I know that your pain tolerance is different than mine but I just want to hear what some other people thought.

The piercing itself does not hurt it is done quick. But about 3 days after I had it done is when the pain started it was very painful to clean and to move it.I’ve wanted the piercing for so long so I will just deal with the pain. The best place to get it done was where I went it is called Beadscape in Riverside, New Jersey,I have a few piercings and no other place went thru the care instructins like they did (they give you saline solution to spry on the piercing which I’ve never heard of but it works really good)They also set you up for a follow up apt 3 weeks later to make sure you are healing and nothing is wrong and the check up is free of charge :o)))

My rook was quite painful and sore afterwards but I can’t handle pain very well. Its not unbearable even for me. It looks so cute afterwards aswell. I would recommend you get one as I love mine.

I have had my piercing for about a month now. there was little pain when it was first done but after a week or so the pain increased dramatically. it looks great though and it hasn’t been infected yet. it is one of the more painful piercings, I will agree. but there is nothing to worry about!

I got my rook pierced two days ago. I felt like I should post something about my experience because I totally PSYCHED myself out before I went to get my Rook pierced because I was reading all of these message boards saying that its extremely painful and the worst piercing ever.

My advice: DO NOT PSYCH YOURSELF OUT. It really isn’t bad AT ALL. I am SUCH a baby and have such a low tolerance for pain, and honestly, it wasn’t bad at all.

Just like any piercing, it hurts a little when they stick the needle in to pierce it, and it is a little uncomfortable when they are messing with the ring to put it in. But once its overwith, its not bad AT ALL!

I loveee my rook piercing. Its so pretty and I am SO happy I went with my gut and got it done regardless of what I read.

On every message board I read, it said that the next week or so after the piercing is the worst, but honestly, I am in little pain. Its kind of tucked inside your ear, so it doesn’t get bumped easily. My ear was a little sore if I bumped it, but its a bearable pain.

Its sore to sleep on, so you should get it done on the opposite side that you would normally sleep on.

If you are serious about getting it done, it is TOTALLY worth it, and not bad at all !!!

I have a VERY HIGH pain threshold. Several piercings, tattoos on my ribs, feet etc. The Piercing itself did not hurt at all, I didnt even squint, however 3 days down the road… SEVERE PAIN! its swullen, not insanely, but definately swullen. the pain is non stop right now, and the thought of taking it out passed through my head. My tattoos and other piercings feel likea cake walk now. It may because I went swimming in a lake 2 days after I got it, however I have been cleaning it with the H2Ocean stuff and been very particular about keeping it clean. its not red so I am doubting an infection. Some people hurt during the piercing, some hurt during healing… Mine is definatel throbbing, and any kind of tylenol is not working. Its beautiful, and it probably only hurts because a) my piercer gave me no aftercare instructions…none, didnt even ask me if I needed cleaner, I went to another tattoo shop and bought some, and b) I went swimming in the lake for 4th of July. owwwie

profesional ear peircings with a surgical steel needle) cost on average $50 some cost a bit more or less though, but they should always be less than about $70 as for pain, obviously youll feel something, but it goes away fast the process is simple they clamp your ear, stick a hollow needle through then thread the jewelrey through the needle

I have: 6 earlobe piercings, 2 cartilage, 1 industrial, 1 eyebrow, 1 inner conch, 1 daith, and the rook. The rook was my most painful, but it was also at an awkward position for my piercer to get to. He had to take it slowly so he didn’t jab the needle through to the other side of my ear. the rook was the most painful out of all my piercings, but that is most likely just because the anatomy of my ear forced the needle to have to go through slower than normal. I also heard the cartilage breaking the whole time the needle was going through. Was it worth it all? You bet!
