how much does a patent cost???

I have some experience with the “invention” companies, and what they charge to get a product off the ground.

but- I need to know what it may cost to just simply submit my blueprint to the patent office ???

and how to contact the patent office?

uspto.gov

You can get a provisional patent for a year for $200 by the end of which time you need to file a real patent.

The total cost, if you use a really good law firm, can be ~30K or so, however, there are cheaper law firms, etc…when we were looking at filing one for my other business, the company we talked to worked with Intel & Google for patent litigation, so they were at the high end of the price range.

Good thing about getting a provisional patent is you get the date as when you file the provisional, not the later date.
