How many of you guys thinks My Chemical Romance is "Emo"

It would be considered “emo” I guess in a sense, but most their songs sound alt. rock/ punk. most people just look at how they dress and yell EMO!! even though that how some of the band dress is Punk.

I guess, if you mean the new-emo…yeah, maybe. Or pop-rock? I don’t know… what would you call them?

Also, to the person up there, whatever genre MCR are, it’s certainly not punk.

They are an emo band but I still love there songs they are great and I dont really give a dam what people think about me its there problem if they dont like it

nope, not emo=/ well I dont think so anyways… love their style and music though-lyrics are genius=] fav song atm is drowning lessons off bullets cd and mama from black parade

they are emo but it doesnt mean what people think it means they dont go around telling people to slit their wrist ort that theres no point to life aaarrrggh! I dont really like mcr that much anymore but it still annoys me that people just have their set stereotypes and think theyre right and that people can die because of it and depressede kids that do end up slitting their wrists and happen to listen to bands like mcr get slagged off for being emo when their dead, for goodness sake, why cant people just accept that there are people in the world that get depressed! sorry, I can’t help ranting about it, its just annoyingly stupid :)

They are emo, you gotta admit it. Not exactly the best band either, def not one of my favorites.
