Are My Chemical Romance and Evanesence emo bands?

Neither band is emo, and neither band is goth at all.

I guess MCR could be considered emo, but I consider it alternative. I would also probably consider Evanescence alternative as well. I guess its a person’s own perception of a band.

mcr is considered an emo band now also mainly because of that incedent with the news and the emo topic but evanescence id say no there sort of alternative and alos come in other catagories, but I wouldnt call it emo and I’ve never met anyone who did

I dont know about my chemical romance, but I no that evanescence is not emo!!! you can tell you little friends that. anyway, those bands are awesome so dont be too worried. people are just jelous of you. lol.

na mcr aint emo, they hate it when people call them emo. they consider themselves rock\punk\pop punk only people who dont listen to their music call them emo so dont worry bout it, I dont know about evanescence though, the songs of theirs I’ve heard are all about suicide though so from what I’ve heard their emo but maybe they have different songs… I dunno lol

evanescence is alittle emo because of the lyrics but kinda goth M.C,R isnt really emo most posers who try to be emo listen to M.C.R same with goth for evanescence but it is a bit gothic

mcr HATES lables!!! they are NAWT an emo band!! the lead singer, gerard way is always saying that he thinks that emo is crap. their a punk band I guess you could say. but certainly nawt emo!! as 4 evanscence I don’t listen to them very much but their songs sound more gothic to me

I listen to both bands and I know 4 a matter of fact that my chemical romance isnt an emo band because some girl hung herself in europe and european people are trying to sue them but before I listen to my chemical romance I was a little suicidal but now things are going great I listen to music and everythings good.

evenesence isnt emo because they are both the same genre so yea.
