How long will my fiance be in prison ???

Okay, so my fiance was sentanced to 3 years in prison in the state of Wisconsin. I have been reading up on a lot of things and a lot of people say for good behavior he can get out early. how early though? He also is eligible to take programs and boot camp that can get him out even earlier. It has been a month since he’s been gone and I just want to know an estimate on how long I should be living alone without him for. pleaaase help!!

Answer #1

Has he filed an appeal? That might be the best way of getting out earlier. Otherwise, probably at least 1.5 years.

Answer #2

That’s what they are doing to my fiance right now. He has been to two different jails and the prison he is at now I guess he only stays for 30-45 days and that is 3 hours away from where we live. And right now only his mom can visit and I can’t which sucks the most.

Answer #3

Yes for good behavior he can get out a lot earlier I know this sucks because my dad was in jail for 5 years so I sorta know what you are going through gl with it

Answer #4

yes, I am thinking at least a year and a half maybe more. He will for sure take advantage of all of the programs. It is all very new to him and is all just beginning so I guess things will just have to take time. His crime was burglary. It was the first time he has ever been in trouble with the law in his life. Although he will deff pay for what he has done.

Answer #5

Just depends on the crime, behavior, if he works while in prison, if he takes advantage of opportunities like boot camp etc.., if he has a three year sentence you’re probably going to be at least looking at a year without him. Of course you will still have visitation, though I realize that’s not much compensation for physically having him with you.

Answer #6

okay good!! yes it does suck very bad! Was your dad a different person when he got out? good or bad? I just hope my fiance doesn’t change who he really is.

Answer #7

thanks, me too !

Answer #8

wow that sucks I hope you can visit soon

Answer #9

Yea they moved him from place to place and it was pretty bad because the places they moved him were so far to get to
