How long should a child abuser get?

A friend of mine was sexually abused when she was 12 years old by 3 women. It lasted for 2 years, then stopped and she never told anyone. But 2 years later, one of the abusers tracked her down and became friends with her parents, they liked her straight away. So, they allowed my friend, let’s call her Emily to be left alone with the abuser who started touching Emily on the legs but Emily, who was 17 years now, knew it was wrong and told the abuser to back off or she would be reported. Which made her abuser mad.

After this, the abuser spiked Emily’s drinks and food so she could rape her. It lasted for 2 months until she was finally reported. She later confessed to abusing 4 other females and 1 male, four years ago. One of the females become so depressed, she cut herself for a while. They were all also beaten until they had massive bruises on their arms and face. They never reported her because they were all scared.

The abuser ended up getting 4 years in prison. If you guys had a choice, what punishment would you have given her?

12 is legally a child, but then, plenty of 12 year olds are sexually active, and most 12 year olds understand sex and masturbate as well.

It isn’t clear to me that the psychological damage at this age is great. It might be equivalent to a a physical beating, which certainly deserves some jail time, but not life in prison nor execution. The same goes for drugging and raping at 17.

I guess around 15 years seems reasonable for what you described, but perhaps other details could increase or decrease that.

rapists and sexual abusers should be mutilated and brought to the electric chair. even if they get tortured, I dont think its enough punishment. I really really hate it when I see in the news that kids are being sexually abused and sometimes, by part of their family! But like what clawjaw said, all sexual abuse is wrong. Be it to kids or adults or no matter what gender and who does the abuse .
