How long before a Q. closes?

I’ve always thought that questions get closed because of underage, or it just being a stupid question. But today I saw a few questions that were not that old, didn’t have heaps of answers, and were very valid questions.

I was just wondering what makes a question close? apart from age or irrelevancy.

You’re right, it is inconsistant…when we relaunch the site in a few weeks, we’ll have a standard for that…most of the time, if the question isn’t very old, and is locked, then it’s because it was vandalized or similar.
