How does ultrasound work?

How does ultrasound work?

Answer #1

Ultrasounds used sound waves not x-rays making it safe to be used on pregnant women. The area is gelled because if it wasn’t there would be no picture as the sound waves would get lost in the air. The scanner is put on to the skin and it detects the areas were there is action and produces a 3d black and white view of inside the patient.
