How do you turn someone down?

well, my friend was in this situation. she was asked out by a guy 2 and a bit years older… they were friends… and she had to tell me, that it couldn’t work. hes going off to uni when shes still at school.. and that it could mess up the friendship. she found it really hard to say no, but it was for the better, she finds it so hard to say no. but he understood… and they are still friends. just tell him straight. just tell him, that you dont feel the same way, and that it would be a waste of his time to try and that you just want to be friends

Then I think you should tell him how you feel. Say exacly what you said here, explain to him how you don’t want hurt him, and how you know that you are not his type of girl. Let him know that he is a nice pearson and you don’t want to hurt him in anyway. But still tell him that you want to be friends with him still, because I’m sure that he is a very good friend.
