how do you train the dog from hell?

Buddy is 3 1/2 mths old and has eaten, chewed , scratched and all in all destroyed our home. we have done everthing we can to stop the destruction, and get him house broken. Now as a 40 pound puppy he is no longer cute but a royal pain. as he refuses to stop. and I am getting desperate. especially when he drags my 6 year old bloodhound all over the house by her ears. we love him very much but are at our wits end with him. any advice is appreciated.

When you say you’ve done “everything”…what all is that?? He’s an awfully young baby for having what sounds like total control of a household. He’s old enough to start puppy training…you can find a class near you. The great thing about these puppy classes is owners learn more about their dogs, than the puppy learns about obedience…Do it as a favor to him, and a HUGE favor for yourself.

Puppies have a lot of energy, and it needs to burn off…if this pup is 40 lbs at 3 1/2 months, then he’s going to be a VERY big dog…got to get him under control now. You say you love him…them spend a few extra buckies and get some help. He’s probably just a large active puppy (not abnormal)…but with a more driven personality than you have ever experienced…that doesn’t make him bad, that just means he needs more direction (I’ll bet you’ve seen children like that…ones who just need a little more active type raising)…

sounds like your pup is stressed or bored. our german shepherd did exactly the same, we rescued her from 6 months and at first she was unsettled. now she is very happy and no longer chews. Maybe he needs extra exercise or someone to play with? Or perhaps he is stressed because he is in pain :S

my dog did the same thing and all we could do was keep putting up with it til she grew out of it…it took a lil while of hitting her and stuff but she finally understood…do you take him for walks? she started calming down when we did that…and you can also get a cage so when you aren’t home he goes in it…and he will start realizing he has to once he hears your keys he will just get in there…good luck.
