How do you solve this problem?

Can someone please help me solve this math problem pronto?

DCOE is a diameter of circle O, AB is a chord of the circle, and OD is perpendicular to AB at C.

If AB = 48 and OC = 7, find OB

If OC = 12 and OB = 18, find AB

Answer #1

Did you draw a picture? PICTURES REALLY DO HELP!!!

It’s really just Pythagorean theorem. a^2+b^2=c^2. so, 48^2+7^2=c^2. Solve for C with a calculator.

Repeat the process for the second one, except this time, you’re looking for a^2. so, a^2+12^2=18^2. Solve for A with a calculator.

Have fun. ^_-
