How do you get your record cleared so you can live a better life?

I want to go to school to be an NA in the medical field, but one problem, I am a felon. My charge is niether aggressive nor drug related. I need to find out how to get my record cleared, about how much it will cost, and how long it will take to be cleared. I have been told also that even after all that gets finished employers can’t tell what the felony was, but they can tell you had your record cleared… is this true???

You can have certain things sealed or expunged from your record. Most states have specific requirements depending on the severity of the crime and usually only if you’re a first time offender.

I’m assuming since your profile says you’re located in New York that’s where the felony took place. Unfortunately, according to New York Criminal Procedure Law 160.55, New York doesn’t allow misdemeanors or felonies to be expunged from records.

If you did have your records sealed or expunged, it would only be made known to courts and law enforcement.
