How do I wash ripped jeans?

I just bought a new pair of ripped jeans, and I know from experience that they rip and tear and ruin further after a few washes. What can I do to prevent further rips and the jeans streching?

Answer #1

Wash them by hand, and dry them with the sun it should definitely work I would do it all the time when I lived in Mexico.

Answer #2

the pillow case sounds like a great idea.. but to me that doesn’t sounds like a good thorough wash. Maybe another idea would be to tie rubber bands just around the areas that are ripped..that way it will hold those loose areas together while tumbling through the washer.

Answer #3

Try looking on the tag, sometime it tells you the best way to take care of certain fabrics an materials.

Other then that you can try to machine wash them.. an just let them hang dry by a heater or outside if the weather is nice.

You can put them inside a pillow case and tie it closed - that way the machine won’t snag the tears and make them worse.

Answer #5

I did that with my other ripped jeans and they would always ruin.
