How do I tell my mom I want to go?

I’m 19 years old in a community college living at home with my mom and little sister. I have a boyfriend and been with him for 2 years. He’s also in college and lives with his dad and two sisters. Ever since I started college my mom has been acting as if my boyfriend is aweful and hates him a lot. I wanna move out because I can’t stand how she controls my life. Yes I understand that she pays for everything but she forbids me to use the car she bought me to see my boyfriend. I wanna move in with my boyfriend and save up to move into my own place. How do I tell my mom I want to move?

Does she pay for your schooling? To live on your own, you’ll need a job to support yourself…AND go to school. Are you willing to do that?

Just really easygoingly just tell her that youll feel better moving out of the house, in with your boyfriend, but tell her that youll visit her often (she might be afraid of missing you too much)

Well sure your an adult. if you can face all those things that she does for you on your own… And if you are going to do that then theres no way to tell her you just let her know that the way shes acting it’s not the way you want to live… You an adult… basically you can do whatever you want. The reason why she is proboly mad about your boyfriend and all that is because meaby she thinks that he can hold you behind or something?

The only way to move out is to support yourself. Once you can pay for everything you need (school, car, food, apartment) sit her down and tell her you think it is time you got a place of your own. If she doesn’t spaz out on you, ask her to help you shop around. Involve her in this next phase of your life. And be patient with her.
