How do I tell everyone I believe?

How am I supposed to tell my parents I believe in god. I hate crying in front of people and I am not the type to share feelings with many people. Im only 13 and my parents belive in god too. But im afraid to tell them and I cant undestand why its so hard for me.

Answer #1

Praise God! You and your parents have common ground on the most important issue in life. If you let them know that you have a hunger for learning more about God and forming a personal relationship with Him, then maybe that will open the door to all three of you growing in faith! Hallelujah!

Answer #2

if you don’t feel like you are ready to share that info then don’t. but I don’t understand why you would cry by telling your parents you believe in God.

Answer #3

Huh? Why would it be difficult for you to tell your parents you believe in god, if they also do?

Regardless, just say “Hey mom and dad, guess what? I believe in god. What’s for dinner?”

Answer #4

if they beleive in the same thing you do, all they could be is happy just tell them, they will be happy the only thing that would most likley make them mad if if you said you were an athiest or beleived in a different religion to them unless there open minded, but thats pretty uncommon

Answer #5

not trying to be mean…but thats one of the dumbest questions I’ve ever heard..

Answer #6

I am not trying to be mean either but unless you left out the word ‘don’t’ in the first sentence…this is ridiculous. grow a pair and tell them what you believe…

Answer #7

This is stupid. Just open your mouth and tell them you believe in God. Why would you cry unless you are a complete f*ckwit!

Answer #8

do they think you believe in god?? if so, this shouldn’t come as a surprise to them.. if they’re like my parents, or my mom at least, they’d just blow it off like it’s nothing.

Answer #9

Be secure in your faith. Don’t cram your beliefs down people’s throats but be willing to talk about it if you feel it’s appropriate.

Answer #10

If they are belivers they should be proud and happy for you. My 13 year old daughter recently made a commitment to God too. I advise her to well since she wasyounger to make time in the mornings to read her Bible and pray. Or edleast before we leave the house. A relationship with God is awesome but something you must take care of with all your heart. He does not need us we need him so it is to our benifit to get to know the God who saved us. Cry if you feel like it, if people cry of sadness and pain, why can you not cry of joy ? I cry a lot in worship, do not expect people to understand you. You do what you have to and feel free to tell your parents how you feel. The more you tell people the more it will become natural to you and by the time you know it they will be avoiding you because you will be known for the girl who has the solution to their problem. This intimidates folks and do not hold back, just because you are young does not mean you can not do great things now for Gods kingdom. Do not ever limit God and you will see what marvelous things he has instore for you. The flesh is weak but the spirit is willing. You have to get your body that is weak and timid used to the spirit of God that dwells in you now. For God does not give us aspirit of fear; but of power, love and of self-control. Keep seeking and be proud.
