How do I swallow a really big pill?

Is it not possible to cut it into smaller pieces ?

What I usually do is hold the pill at the tip of your fingers and open your mouth really wide and put it all the way down your throat so your thoart opens up and drop the pill it will go straight down then drink some water really quick.peace

Before crushing or breaking the pill make sure it isn’t a sustained or time release drug. Crushing or breaking pills defeats the mechanisms to delay release of the drug..

I have a bit of trouble swallowing big pills. The biggest pill I take is 500mg Lysine tablets that I take when I get cold sores. My technique is to take a drink of milk to make my throat slippery, toss the pill mid-tongue, then take another big gulp of milk and try to forget the pill is in my mouth; it just goes along with the big gulp of milk. Usually I don’t even feel it though occasionally I gag on the pill.

…unless its a capsule.

you can get a pill cutter at the drug store for very little cost. cut it up so you can swallow it.
