How do I stop getting embarrassed easily?

Like if someone pulls a prank on me, how do I just laugh it off and not let it get to me?

Answer #1

Just realize you aren’t the only person who got punked today, say ‘good one’ and move on - later you can decide to drop it or plan a good one for them…Take care !!

Answer #3

it takes a powerful ego :) not a big one but a powerful one, learn to control your emotions and try to think about how funny it would be to see somebody else’s reaction to it.

Answer #4

lol, I guess the idea would be why do you get embarrassed? if it’s because you think you look stupid (and then start imagining what people are thinking) well that’s never going to get you anywhere. It’s a joke, not something that anyone’s going to remember in 5 minutes anyways…People are very self absorbed and rarely think about other people… so try and laugh it off, and change the subject asap…

Answer #5

Just realize you’re an imperfect person easily duped like everyone else, and find the comedy value in that.

Answer #6

Pretend it is happening to someone else.

Answer #7

by doing exactely that… laugh and forget about it.

hey there, I’m the sort of person who has been getting embarrassed over silly things recently and I’ve found that a way of preventing it is to realise your own strengths and this is common advise but it really does work; if you just list all the things your good at I.e hobbies, features you like about your personality, body, style etc and this will help to gain confidence which is key to not getting embarrassed so easily because you are focusing on the things you can do well in life. Most importantly though, what really works for me is reminding myself of the things I’m good at and do well when in a situation where I feel I may become embarrassed, and if it does happen then understand that it is a human characteristic which occurs naturally in everyone at some point in different situations and you need to tell yourself that everyone shares this emotion and it’s no big deal if you go a red over something, it’s only a moment and no-one relates to it as being weird or a big thing because everyone is faced with it. Especially with stress and work and tiredness it may be hard to control emotions, but just work on confidence and you’ll feel better about yourself, don’t put yourself down and shrug off embarrassment -it’s extremely common :)People don’t judge so easily and if I saw some snow fall on someone, I wouldn’t be that bothered about it, I laugh at everything really so anything funny that happens to myself I just laugh at it, it’s usually just talking to people that may be difficult but then they might have the same issue and they’re not judging you anyway.
