How do I play with my old dog

my old dog can get wild but I dont know how to play with her. She does not fetch balls or play tug or anything puppys do.

As phrannie says make sure you walk her.

I know a lady that has a Boxer that is 8 and that is getting old for a Boxer. She bought a Boston Terrier puppy (from me ;)) this is why I know about the situation. But the pup really sparked up the older Boxer, he teaches the younger dog. Plays gentle mouth games with it. Paw games and things that are dog play. I don’t know if you have ever seen what I am talking about but an older dog and larger dog has a gentle, cool way of playing with a smaller dog or pup.

But I guess what I am trying to say other than walking have you thought about bringing a pup into your older dogs life. Now make sure it is a puppy that can hold it’s one and has a matching personality to go with your older dog. Or even a dog about 6 months old that still has play to it but can hold up to an older dog.

But for sure walk your dog, Exercise as phrannie says is a good key to your dogs health and frame of mind

my dalmaion made it to 13, I just relaxed with him, laid on the couch and watched TV and scratched behind his ears and made him feel loved.

well usually old dogs like that arent as entergetic, and they just love to take it easy.. so dont force her into doing anything it doesnt want to.

Take her for walks…Walking satisfies the “young dog” in her, without straining old joints and muscles…and keeps her interest in the world going…I have a 15 year old Terrier, who sleeps about 80% of the time…but in the morning, she’s raring to go for her “walkie”…
