How do I persuade my parents to get a dog?

How do I persuade my parents to get a dog?

Answer #1

Show them you’d be responsible and make it your birthday and/or Christmas wish…Take care !!

Answer #2

First off, write up a contract that says that you will pick up the dog’s waste especially if they go inside, agree to let them not pick a dog that you may like if they dont like it, agree to feed the dog, give it excersie, etc. It also makes them feel better if you say your okay if they only want a dog that’s potty trained. Sign the contract, print it, and give it to them. Tell them about the advantages of getting a dog. It can make your mood happier, teach you responsibility, etc. That’s what I did. Then ask them to take you to a shelter that is NOT A NO KILL SHELTER. With so many dogs that will be youthenized, it’s much nicer to not go to a no kill shelter. When a dog catches your eye, ask if you can play with it. When your parents see how sweet and cute the dog is, and knowing you signed a contract to take care of it, they may consider it. Also, it’s reccomended you don’t get a purebred. Many times they are bred too much and don’t live as long, nor do they make as unique of pets.

In my case, my mom’s dad was the man who wanted a dog his whole life as a kid, and would be very mad if she deprived us of a dog. It was getting a second dog that persuasion was necessary.

well show them your responsible I begged my parents to get me a puppy but they wouldent so I volateered to watch my neighbors cat for a week while they went to florida it took 2 ans a half years but I got him!!

Answer #4

You need to come up with a plan and convince them that you will do all the training if it’s a puppy, and all the walks, and vacuuming up of dog hairs. Dogs are quite a lot of responsibility and they may not be willing to take all that on.

Answer #5

I raised my grades and did lots of chores and was like really really nice to parents. by doing this your rents will think you are responsible enough to get a dog. I did all those things and now I have a dog!

Answer #6

Let them know that you can be responsible, and clean up after it, feed it, walk it etc.

Answer #7

I guess you could try all the suggestions above. but if they dont want a dog, theres probably nothing that would change their mind. haha
