How do I forget my thoughts and get rid of my guilt?

Ill try to explain as well as possible. in july of 2008 I was sexually attacked and after it happened I did a lot of self medicating just to try and think of something else.When I told my mum I hade to go to the doctors for a pregnancy test which came back negative.Time has gone by and I have blanked it out for a while.But a few weeks ago I thought that maybe I could of been pregnant but killed it in the 6 week time I hade before I told my mum.I have felt guilty for week and its a issue in my mind and no matterwho I have told including my mum the thought and my guilt hasnt gone away

Abbeyrose, you have gone through something that is extremely hard to deal with. You should have no guilt about what happened to you or how you handled it after the incident. Remember that guilt has a way of twisting our minds and thoughts and you need to accept what has happened and deal with it in a way that allows you to forgive yourself. Write down your thoughts of guilt and pain about what has happened and then burn it, this may help with closure in your own mind. You have to try something that releases the guilt from your mind. I hope this may help you to get passed your pain. Take care and always look for help in the right places.

it takes time to get over something like that. I know because I have been through the same thing. but my mom didn’t care. she shrugged it off like nothing happened. so I know how it hurts. just keep your head up. good luck take care because I care. if you need someone to talk to just let me know.
