How to convince my grandma that we're just friends?

Umm, my grandma (I live with her) just caught me and my friend hugging. She thinks that we’re going out or something. How do I convince her otherwise? Please help. I’m really embarassed and worried. I mean, how do I explain this? The truth, I mean, that he was just hugging me goodbye and not… something else? It’s the truth…. but how do I convince her of that? She’ll think that… y’know, we’re dating, which we aren’t.

Umm, well, I’m just that way… I feel guilt erratically. And she DOES act like she was “interrupting”. Oh my god, it makes me kinda mad. But I don’t want her to go round and tell all of her friends and whatnot. But good advice anyways. You just reminded me why I’m ME. I don’t care what people think. THANKS!!! ^.^

Just tell her the truth. Whatever she thinks is on her, not on you.

You sound like you’re guilty of something, though.

lol well u can tell her straight up be like were only friends i mean she proably wont believe u i had the same thing hapen wit my mom as long as u know that itz just friends thats all that matters

Dear Laure, You just tell her the truth as to how you feel towards the friend.

Who really cares if grandma believes you or not. I know you want her to understand so you won’t feel uncomfortable etc.. This is a good learning experience for you.

You are explaining your true feelings to someone. You cannot control another persons thinking. Again, tell her the truth and then you can even tell her to think what she wants. It is her choice. Then you forget it!! Let her think what she wants. Familycoach
