Why do people judge anorexics?

I have a best friends who’s anorexic and so I kinda understant what it’s like (I know its impossible to KNOW what its like). but a lot of people ask questions like, “Why would she do that to herself?” or ,”she’s so stupid to starve herself even thought she’s thin.” how come they dont understant that she’s not actually doint it on purpose??? I mean I have seen her in such a bad state once, where we were invited to her boyfriends party and he doesnt no about her anorexia so she had to eat. and after that she panicked and was even suicidal!! I mean who would actually do that to themselves without having a mental disorder?? so why do people judge anorexics??

Not so much judging as caring because they’re aware anorexia has the potential to damage body organs and can even be fatal…They’re concerned (as they should be).

Dear aliceevans, People judge because they don’t understand. When we see a person who is thin and appears to be anorexic we wonder why they do this to themselves. Many do not realize it is a psychological dysfunction. The one’s who do realize this wonder why these people are not getting help. If your friend is anorexic I hope she is in recovery and if she isn’t then why not? So again a situation to judge. We will judge her family and friends for allowing her to die. We will also judge a larger person in the same way even if the condition is health related. Unfortunately we all judge…as you are judging the ones who judge. We are all human and all humans judge. well it is not that stupid but it is a disease and she may not see herself th e way others do.
