How can the biblical God be pure good if he created of pure evil

…I mean think of it. God created everything, meaning he created evil as well & pure evil(the Devil). & before the Devil(his polar opposite) was created, what was the biblical then? Good cannot exiest without evil.

Answer #1

Good can exist without evil. And Evil can exsit without good. BUT what they cannot do, is exsits without the POTENTIAL for their opposite. Which is why I likke to think that God did not create evil, the potential was always there. just like the potential for good was always there (good = God).

Answer #2

you may not know this, but the Devil used to be one of God’s angels. he committed a sin, and got cast out of heaven. that’s basically how the evil formed: he went against God.

Answer #3

to TY, finally someone who gets the question!!!

What, do you think I’m stupid? Yes I know Satan held a high position & went against God. But isn’t God suppose to be all knowing? Why would he create Satan if he would rebel against him? Could he really NOT be all knowing & powerful.

& Actually he wasn’t Cast from heaven, he just flew off with a band of rebel angels really.

& if potential was always there, can that mean there is something in play that is higher than God?

Answer #4

Again, I’m not a fool & Again, if God is all knowing why would he need to test us? He nits us together in the womb, he knows us before we are born ,why would he need to test? Sounds more like he’s playing a game really. He creates a category called sinners, places everyone in it(even new born babys!) the creates a terrible place for these people to be eternally tortured. How loving. In the olden days Christians believed in condemnation, it makes sense when you thin kof it. God knows us & creates us as we are then sends us to hell because we’re not the way he wants us, though he’s the one who made us who we are.

Answer #5

“okay God had 2 sons Jesus Christ and the Devil “

ok, it’s one thing to quote scripture, it’s another thing to make stuff up! where did this second son come from?

and back to the question, why did God create this second son if he KNEW the second son was going to turn evil (and why on earth is God playing favorites)

thex13thxchild - dont bother waiting for an answer… I dont think the religious know the answer to this question, so the best you’re going to get is “God works in mysterious ways”

Answer #6

I agree with toadaly. God creating everything including evil was a made up story. Gods excitance was a made up story as well. The question can’t be answered cause the person that thought it up didn’t cover all the bases. So christians keep throuing you loop holes and answers that make no since for 2 reasons. 1 thay dont know and dont want to admit it and/or 2 they have been taugh to believe ands never question.

Answer #7

“why do you even these kinds of questions, all you want to do is argue bout it, you wont take anyones answers b/c you want to argue with them, so why cant you just take their opinions and stop arguin with everyone.”

Take your own advise sweety, Christians do it all the time. & actually no I don’t do it to argue. If you would READ my profile you’ld see that I am curies in what other people think. so I ask them questions that will give me a better outlook on certain things. & the reason why I wont take their answer is because it contradicts itself & is really not an answer at all. Try being self righteous on someone else’s page.

Answer #8

I believe that evil is the absence of good. Just like darkness isnt really something but more of a word that describes the absence of light! same with coldness..its the absence of heat! I believe God made good, evil is the absence of God which is good, and is just a word that describes the lack of God or good!

Answer #9

“””okay God had 2 sons Jesus Christ and the Devil “

ok, it’s one thing to quote scripture, it’s another thing to make stuff up! where did this second son come from?””

not to defend the idea but thats what Mormons believe. Just thought I’d let you know case you didnt get an answer

Answer #10

What I’d like to know from Christians is, how they are able to answer your question and still believe the OT and NT concepts of God and Satan can be reconciled.

Answer #11

that’s an answer I can agree with, lol But I’m still interested on what Christians have to say to “prove” their god is pure good & their devil is pure evil. So sock it to me, show me what you got! Lol.

Answer #12

to understand good and see good there must be something to compare it to, with out sadness you cant ever feel happy.. there is a long philsophical answer but thats the jist of it

Answer #13

Notice how everyone avoids the question? God created evil because God knew what would happen (being omnipotent and all) and therefore he chose to create the “fallen angels” and therefore evil… So, why did God choose to create evil?

Answer #14

okay God had 2 sons Jesus Christ and the Devil . When God asked who would down to earth to recieve a earthly body and sacra fice himself Jesus said he would go down, but the Devil wanted to go too. Jesus was chosen , the Devil was unhappy and was casted out of Heaven. Before he left he presuaded 1/3 of the angels to go with him, the Fallen Angels. God knew that the Devil would be evil. Us being on this earth is like a test for school. When we die and go up to b judged by God, we are judged on the right and the wrong choices we made throughout our lives. The Devil wants us to b on his side than on his brother or fathers side.

Answer #15

Yes, he held a high position in heaven, until iniquity was found in him, when God cast him out of heaven, he persuaded 1/3 of the angels to go with him, they are currently fallen angels on the earth. Some are chained in hell, awaiting the judgement.

I think he now uses the bad to bring good. In othe words, what Satan and his angels mean for evil, God can turn it around and make good come from it.

Answer #16

lol, seriously jester? thanks for the info!

Answer #17

Uhm, god doesn’t exist, so he didn’t create evil.
