How can I get over being shy to upper class-men?

I am very outgoing and funny. I’m not a shy person at all, but something about the popular upper classmen at my school intimidate me. Can anyone give me some advice so I can hold a conversation without being nervous?

Aww don’t be scared!! I’m an upper class men!! Junior =D And we really aren’t as bad as everyone makes us out to be =] Some of us.. [like my friend unfortunately] really don’t like freshman.. but the more mature ones, like me =D Know that we were Freshman once, and we were just as immature as the new freshman, so we gotta give you Freshies a break =] I suggest just being yourself and holding a nice convo about your intrests, as well as theirs. Don’t be shy ^^ We don’t bite =]

Just think of them as your friends. Dont go in and be all awkward hold a convo like you would with anyone else. I hate small talk so when I talk to someone I dont know yet I just kinda breakk the ice and say yeah I hate small talk so lets just start with the good stuff and I’ll bring something up. Joke around if you’re funny. Just try to be yourself
