How can I dye my bleached blonde white hair brown?

I recently went to the hair salon for an all over blonde, my brown hair underneath turned orange, but on top was blonde, I went back and she sorted it out by putting a bleach all over, im now left with white hair but with a few orange strands. how can I dye my hair brownish without any further disasters, would rather do it myself if possible?

You can acually go to sallys, and they can help you really well. I got there all the time, because I love to die my hair. They got some good prices for hair color, and they can tell you how to do it step by step. I really think you should give it a shot. You will be very happy with it. :]

I wouldn’t go back to the salon that you went to though. Yikes! Sounds like the colorist wasn’t very educated. I’ve done this before. Had my dark brown hair dyed honey blonde. The colorist first stripped the hair of all the color (and I got the same result you are describing. Lighter at the ends and oranger on the top close to the scalp). That would be the first step. The colorist you used should have then used a toner to put tone back in the hair (deposit color instead of stripping it).

Any store bought hair color kit should work but I would look for one without peroxide or amonia. You don’t need to damage the hair further. Remember that if it is white right now then the color you chose will be pure. So pick the EXACT shade you want before buying it. You want to use a color that is deposit only, no lift. It should say on the bottle.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Garnier’s new Herbashine. It uses bamboo extract to help strengthen the hair and it’s not entirely permanent (washes out over time..not sure how long) So it would be a good one to experiment with shades to get the one you want without damaging your hair further.

A bonus on the at home hair coloring kits? The conditioner that comes with it is great for your hair. A suggestion though, since your hair has already been so fried by that colorist? Do a deep conditioning to your hair at least 24 hours before. You can find all kinds of good ones at any Sally’s Beauty Supply or good hair salon. When I went blonde I loved Matrix’s Kerafixx
