Can being in a hot room cause lightheadedness?

Lately Ive been getting really light-headed, the first time it happened I believe I almost fainted. The only thing that helps is crouching down, which the first time it happened, I did crouch down a couple times, but I was at my boyfriend’s in his kitchen and I didnt want his dad to see me ‘acting strange’ by crouching, so I didnt and I was closing my eyes without really wanting to, I couldnt open them, or think to open them because I was just dizzy and I was spinning around in a circle without really wanting to, it was like it was just happening to me without me being able to think, and then I was like, falling around into stuff and I fell down, my boyfriend helped me up and then I went and sat down. Since then Ive been really lightheaded a lot and the only thing I can figure that is the same every time is that it’s hot. His kitchen was hot the first time, I was at the laundromat and the dryers were on another time, I was cooking on the stove another time, ect. This has never happened to me before and Im sick of it and I want to know why it’s happening…without a doctor’s visit.

Has anything in your diet or day to day lifestyle changed? How long does it last when it happens? Does your vision dim out or do you just get extremely dizzy? Do you drink much caffeine? There are certain medications that cause that same thing to happen to me, as well as when I drink caffeine without eating enough. The heat is possible, though i’m not sure if it would be hot enough in the places you’ve mentioned to cause that. Honestly I dont think your going to be able to figure it out without going to a doctor and I know thats now what you want to hear haha.

John, thanks, man. Youre so knowledgeable. Makenzie- I hardly ever drink caffeine and every time it’s happened I wasnt drinking anything with caffenine, there’s never any problem with my vision or hearing when it happens, and I dont take medication of any kind ever. My boyfriend’s kitchen can get extremely hot because he lives in an old house and his stove is also a heater type thing which is the only heating for the whole house, there is a lot of dryers running at once in the laundromat, ect. It must because of the heat, but why now?
