Is it okay to keep my horse 20 minutes from my house?

As long as it is in a safe environment with enough food, water and room to walk/run around it should be fine. Assuming you’re going to check on it at least every 48 hours. Horses don’t need constant attention but any animal in an enclosure needs to be monitored and have constant access to a trough of clean water, grass, hay, or horse mix to eat (preferably horse mix as it has more vitamins) and a horse blanket if it’s cold at night. Make sure there is also shade available if it is hot where you are. I know many people who graze their horses away from their home. I also know many people who have farms so big that it takes over 20 minutes to get to the horse paddock!! As long as you don’t forget about the horse it will be fine.
