Honest advice for starting a band

welll iwanna start a band and I think I sing pretty well, but dunno how to play a single instrument…though I’ve bin trained pretty well to sing…will the fact that I dont play any instrument be a setback??

Answer #1

no not really!! if you have good pitch and a good sense of beat…(if you know what I mean ) you should be okay I think!!=) maybe you should start learning an instrument

Answer #2

If your singing is as good as the playing of the other band members, then you’ll be in demand. The easiest way to join bands is to either audition for one (check music boards and local music shops for ‘singer wanted’ adds), hook up with a group of friends, or form your own band by posting ‘musicians wanted for new band’ adds.

But yeah, you’ll be in greater demand if you also play an instrument - particularly if you are able to play and sing at the same time.

Answer #3

u can just do vocals have the other people play the instruments..

Answer #4

no it doesnt matter…a good singer will carry the band, im not sure what kinda of music you are into but I would go check out some live bands at your local bar and put the word out you are wanting to start a band. Good singers are hard to come by…good luck!

Answer #5

No; You should be fine as long as yuo have other people who can play the instruments. The only problem that could arise Is that you may find it more difficult to help write some of the music, But this should be easy to get around.
