Do you think Hitler caused World War II and why?

Yes, from what i remember learning, he was trying to take over the world little by little, so he started with the countries around germany then once those countries realized what he was doing, they were like oh hell nooo! so they started a war to keep hitler out their countries and little by little more countries got involed leading into ww2

Inadvertantly but yes because I think he was generally aiming for Europe, not the whole world. His actions just got countries such as Japan going which resulted in more countries joining to fight them off (US).

No one person has the ability to cause anything any more. He was not a dictator when he began. He was elected into power. Because of the heavy reparations Germany was forced to pay under the treaty of Versailles. If the allies had not placed such a crazy amount on Germany, it is unlikely that he would have become a dictator and convinced people that they should go to war. So no, I don’t think he caused the war. I think a series of events and people caused the war.

There were MANY causes of WWII. Hitler had a definitive role in it, but did he alone start WWII? No. He wanted it to happen(though, not in the way it did, mind you) and did what he could to stealthily encourage it’s happening. But he didn’t start WWII.

depends how you look at it, let me explain… a world war consists or 2 or more continents.

hitler invaded european countries from his european country so not yet a world war. once in poland they were asked why they had invaded and we got no reply so the british empire declared war which was made up of canada, australia and various other countries from other continents.

so if your looking at it from that, no, hitler did not cause world war 2, the british empire did.

He invaded Poland against the fact he said he wouldn’t and then invaded European countries to increase power and land also inciting fascist views and preparing for a total war on all fronts so I would say he was a starting factor.
