Do you think there will be a World War 3?

Yes. Conflict is ever-present. Humans are competitive by nature.

I sure as hell hope not. With all the horrible atomic weapons around the world, nothing good will come of it. Then again, little good came from the first two world wars. Sometimes I wish everything could be settled by rock, paper, scissors.

Not in the way that WW1 and WW2 were. The times of a “throw-an-army-against-an-army this-nation-against-that-nation wars are over, i think.

That will probably not come back. It’s just as obsolete as swords and horses.

WW3 won’t be “the Russian” against “the Yankee” in a “who is faster to push the button” scenario. Nor will “the Krauts” attack all neighbors with the Panzer. No way.

It will be more like… guerrilla tactics, terrörism, drones, assaults, attempts on the life of single (more or less important) people, machines, torture, robots, rocket launchers, hide and seek in confusing terrain, fuzzy terrör (or “freedom fighter”) organizations, spies, cyberspace-wars, sleepers, snipers and car bombs.

There will not be any clear concept of the enemy on either side. Heck, there will probably not even be two “sides” you can be on, in such a war. It will be so much more secretive and chaotic.

Who knows? Maybe the “War on Terrör” will be called WW3 in future Generations history books.
