Hispanic Immigrants
*THIS IS NOT MEANT TO START A BATTLE … I JUST WANT SERIOUS OPINIONS ON THIS SITUATION”
What do you guys thing about all the hispanic immigrants who come here illegally? (this was a subject brought up in my humanity class) Is it wrong to come to a Country where you can work and send money back to your family to at least be able to eat? Is it wrong to try to make a better living for yourself in a country that doesn’t have as much poverty? Is it wrong to be sent back UNWILLING to a place where you can barely survive on beans and eggs … vegetables if your grow them. Where you can’t afford to send your children to a decent school, and that is if you can afford to keep your children? Is it wrong for illegal hispanics to want a better life for themselves?
here is where it turns;
Is it right for an illegal immigrant to work under a fake SS#? Is it right for them to drive w/o a license? Is it right for people to come here illegally???
I think we should support people who want to make a living here in the US… the question is … WHY is it so HARD for Mexicans to come and get a VISA, and a PASSPORT into the Unites States??? All they want to do is make a better living for themselves and their families …
(I am not Mexican so I thank the God I do not have this problem)
“Is it wrong to come to a Country where you can work and send money back to your family to at least be able to eat? Is it wrong to try to make a better living for yourself in a country that doesn’t have as much poverty?”
No. Since illegal immigration was more or less caused by NAFTA, I see the boom in impoverished migrant workers from Mexico to the US as a natural consequence.

Illegal immigration’s impact on the US is mixed. In many communities, it’s very beneficial. In others, it’s not. There is no positive or negative summary of illegal immigration in the US.
Illegal immigrants don’t compete in the same job market as most American citizens. What Americans should be more concerned about is corporations bringing foreign labor into the US to replace middle class jobs and salaries. This isn’t widespread but it is happening in a couple places. If that becomes widespread, it will be much more serious than illegal immigration.
Honestly, I support every type of immigrant doesn’t matter if they’re from South America, Central America, Mexico, Europe..anywhere. I believe if there are opportunities somewhere and someone struggles to get there so their family can survive then everyone should be allowed here. Now, if someone comes into the country illegally, it’s not that I don’t support it but I think it could have gone about a different way. I believe the United States government and INS has a lot to do with it. They take so long to issue a Visa that most people just give up and come here. I think a lot of people would do things correctly if they were given the chance. Also, the whole not driving without a license and fake SS number is not right. Every country has rules. I don’t agree with sending someone unwilling back to their country. I think if someone is caught, they should be kept here and working where the government can provide and make them wait for a Visa/Residency/Citizenship.
All in all, I believe everyone in the world deserves an equal opportunity. There’s people born in this country that have the means to go to college, work, make a name for themselves and instead they’re out in the street selling drugs or going to jail for a crime. I’m no one to judge but if there’s people out there who do not appreciate what they have, why not give the opportunity to someone who will? Good question.
oriquni I agree.
Illegal aliens should be fined and shipped back to wherever they belong. If they want to come here legally that is ok, but not illegally. They need to pay “room and board” (taxes, social security…)like the rest of us, if they want to be here.
I believe immigration should only be done legally no matter the intent. Would you feel safe if thousands of individuals came from a middle eastern country with no legal status? There would be no way to track them and it is dangerous. I am not racist, I have friends from all ethnicities but you cannot deny that the crime rates have gone up. There are both good and bad intents and that is why immigrants should only come in legally and we need to seal the borders.
“Is it right for an illegal immigrant to work under a fake SS#? Is it right for them to drive w/o a license?”
If it’s a jail-able offense for ME to have a fake SSN or a fake DL…and I’m a legal citizen, am I being politically “incorrect” to demand that an illegal should pay the same price?? I don’t think so…
The irony, however…is my cell mate would probably be an “illegal Canadian”…LOL…

wOw… I am surprised to see NO answers … interesting …
I find it apalling that Mexican men and women need to find work outside of the homeland of their forfathers going back thousands of years. Mexico has an abundance of natural resources, as does most of central america. The reason they are coming north is that multinational corporations have stripped them of what is rightfully theirs and they come to be compensated by middle class workers here. Something not fair there. I would love for the indigenous people to reclaim their country… Seems like we could help them out in that manner… but that would mean disciplining the plutocrats… so I guess that is off of the table… and not up for discussion here either.

I have no problem with immigrants, legal or illegal. Our “founding” forefathers didn’t have legal permission from the Indians to immigrate here so who are we to deny immigration by others. My only concern is that none of them be felony type criminals.
Very good answers! Love all of your points of view!! thanks All !!
